Nothing Without Water is a private, non-profit foundation on a mission to reshape how the world sees, values, and interacts with water. We believe water isn’t just a resource ~ it’s a force that shapes civilizations, sustains life, and connects us all.
We have two distinct missions:
First, we are changing the conversation ~ through our podcast, the Water Couch™.
Through authentic, often unexpected conversations, we aim to spark a new kind of connection to water; one grounded in understanding, emotion, and shared experience. This is where global leaders, water experts, utility managers, entertainers, and athletes come together to share stories that reveal water’s impact on their and our lives. Our goal is to foster a deeper appreciation for our intimate relationship with water everyday. When water becomes personal, it becomes powerful.
Second, we want to shift public consciousness around water. Our Water Museum is an immersive, living archive of water’s story. Visitors will explore narratives that span centuries and continents, where beauty and urgency co-exist: whether utopian or dystopian, this interactive exhibit will show water’s trajectory through time and history. Part exhibition, part experience, the museum is a space to reconnect with water as both an elemental force and a deeply human story. Read more in detail at our museum link.
At its core, Nothing Without Water is both a movement and a megaphone for water.

Conversations from the World of Water
Welcome to The Water Couch™
...a space where water takes the spotlight.
Through conversations with global leaders, policymakers, utility leaders, athletes, adventurers, and storytellers whose lives have been defined and touched by water — water’s story will be told from every angle. This is the global conversation about water in all its forms—essential, emotional, elemental.
Pull up a seat. The world of water is deeper than you think.
At our museum, visitors are invited to explore the story of water across time ~ through immersive exhibits, interactive experiences, and thought-provoking narratives from around the world. This is not just a museum. It’s a journey.
WATER PAST
Step into the ancient relationship between humans and water. From early irrigation systems and aqueducts, to the conflicts that have continually challenged it. Come experience the purity of water and the ongoing innovation that has surrounded water for centuries. Discover how civilizations rose around it, fought over it, purified it—and survived because of it.
WATER PRESENT
Today, water tells vastly different stories depending on where you stand. Stories that show both great abundance and daunting need. From urban cities to remote deserts ~ explore real world case studies from around the globe, showcasing the processes we use to purify our water and make more of it available. Come reflect on the deep emotional connection we all share with water today—our most essential, and most beloved element.
WATER FUTURE
What comes next depends on what we choose now. This exhibit explores multiple futures—some hopeful, others cautionary. From policy and innovation to everyday choices, the future of water will be shaped by leaders, farmers, scientists, teachers, and families alike. Everyone has a role to play. Come visit a few different scenarios.
Our Museum is designed to inform, inspire, and at times, shock. It’s an experience that stays with you—a blend of awe, urgency, and hope.
An experience you will not soon forget.

Water Diary. 2026.
Many of you wake each morning, turn a tap, and think nothing of it. I appear—crisp, clean & reliable. You assume I’ll always be there.
Others among you lie awake at night, wondering if I’ll arrive at all. You’ve felt the fear of scarcity, of drought, of dependence on something so vital and yet so uncertain.
I am both comfort and crisis.
Abundance and absence.
Healing and harm.
Life—and the possibility of its end.
I can give you everything… if you respect me.
What a strange burden I carry—to be loved and feared, celebrated and ignored.
To be essential, and yet so often invisible.
You’ve used me to wage wars, to win them, to survive them. I’ve been both weapon and victim, flowing through history in blood and flood alike.
I have been stretched, polluted, redirected, and commodified—manipulated to serve your needs, no matter the cost.
I am tired of being taken for granted.
It’s time to understand: this relationship must change.
Because you cannot live without me.
This is water, speaking.
Welcome to my point of view.
Chayse leads the charge for water. While she is known for interior design and architecture, she has been involved in environmental activism for over 2 decades. First, with the NRDC, then, as an advocate for Environment California. Chayse’s design trips to India along with a fracking tour around the central valley of California, led her to awareness around water issues that are taken for granted around the world. She will get down and dirty for water, including on a dry lake bed.
Chayse believes a lifetime in humankind’s habitat is enough to want to help preserve nature‘s greatest resource – WATER – what makes everything else possible.
We are assembling a board of experts, change-makers, activists and global leaders in their fields - that involve environmental awareness, water and humanitarian efforts - to deliver lasting impact with our projects.
Kimberly joins us in the charge for water bringing experience and insights on managing the business side of water. Her background working with the Niagara Falls Transit Authority, along with heading multicultural initiatives for hospitals and hospitality venues - brings well-rounded perspective to our global approach to the water story.
